Falkland Rural Enterprises Limited
Falkland Rural Enterprises farms a fully organic estate in the shelter of the Lomond Hills, raising grass-fed cattle and sheep. Aberdeen Angus and Belted Galloway cattle graze the fields alongside a flock of Texel and Scottish Blackface sheep, all finished predominantly on grass. The farm grows organic spring barley, oats, beans and winter barley to supplement the animals, selling surplus grain on for cereals, energy bars, whisky and beer. In 2012 it planted a two-acre orchard of Discovery, Red Windsor, James Grieve and Rajka dessert apples, ready from late August into October.
