Cùl Mòr Gardens
Brian Davidson has grown vegetables organically in Elphin since 2007, working raised beds fed only with seaweed, kitchen compost and manure, and using no pesticides. A polytunnel brings on First Early potatoes ahead of season, followed by courgettes and tomatoes; outdoors he raises maincrop potatoes, kale, lettuce, swede, leeks, onions, celery and beetroot. Rhubarb, soft fruit, plums and apples round out the harvest, most of it ready through late summer, autumn and early winter. His partner Jan, an artist, occasionally offers cards and small gifts through The Green Bowl.
