Nicky Figgins Dance Academy (NFDA)
Nicky Figgins opened Centre Stage Academy in Blackpool at thirty, after a performing career of some twenty-four years that took in theatre, cruise ships and nine years with Spirit of the Dance, where she became lead dancer and company manager. By thirteen she had been North West ballroom and Latin champion five times, and she left school on a scholarship to the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, where she took her ISTD teaching diploma. Eleven years on she is still the school's principal, and pupils from three years old to adults learn tap, ballet, modern, Irish, street, ballroom, Latin, singing and drama.
