Upminster u3a runs 51 groups around Upminster.
Upminster u3a was founded in 2016 and has grown to more than 600 members and over 50 interest groups, all set up and run by members for members. Alongside the interest groups it runs social events and coach excursions and holds regular monthly meetings. Those meetings are normally on the third Tuesday of the month at the New Windmill Hall, opening with a few words from the chairman and followed by a main speaker and often a second one. Doors open at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
- Newcomers There are no age restrictions, no qualifications are needed and no exams are held.
- What to bring Tea and biscuits are served at monthly meetings, and members are asked to bring their own cup.
