SOCIAL WEEKENDERS

A sociable group for members at a loose end at the weekend, when most other interest groups do not meet. There are no strict rules about what it does, and suggestions from members are welcome. Activities have included Sunday lunch, afternoon tea, visits to galleries and stately homes, theatre, concerts and cinema, and members are asked to take a turn at organising an event where they are able. It usually meets on the third Sunday of the month, though the day can flex around a timed weekend event the group wants to attend. When it goes out of Eastbourne it will try to arrange car sharing for members without their own or public transport, though it cannot guarantee it.
