Short Walking Group

A weekly walk of less than five miles, usually between three and four, setting off from Park Road behind the Portland Hotel and normally back by lunchtime, often with a stop for coffee and possibly cake. The walks are not difficult, with no steep sections and few if any awkward stiles, along good paths. The group admits to being fair weather walkers and meets for coffee at the Pavilion Gardens cafe instead when the weather is unsuitable. Winter walks stay around Buxton and in better weather the group drives short distances in as few cars as possible. There is no meeting on the second Wednesday of the month.
