Sailing

An introduction to dinghy sailing on Olton Mere, supported by the resident sailing club, where qualified RYA instructors take members out in conventional two or three person dinghies or in access dinghies designed for those who are less mobile or less confident, which are built not to capsize. Sessions run on the third Friday of the month from 1pm until 4pm, from April until October, and depend on the weather, since high winds, heavy rain or a low water level can keep the group off the mere. The group is waiting for permission to use the mere because the water is low, and members will be contacted when the first session of the season can be arranged.
