Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of exercises to gently build and regulate vitality, practised with mindfulness to bring relaxation to the mind and promote healing of the body. The system taught here is a medical rather than a martial form, with slow, smooth movements addressing the liver, heart, spleen, lungs and kidneys, and a sixth element relating to the bone marrow and stem cells. The group practises every Friday at 10.30am outdoors on the green in front of the sports pavilion at Watchfield recreation ground, moving into the pavilion when it is wet. There is a car park and access to toilets.
- Newcomers No prior knowledge is required, and members can practise as gently as they wish.
- What to bring Comfortable, loose fitting clothes and equally comfortable footwear are suggested.
