Music Appreciation

Two hours of listening to music, with a tea and coffee break in the middle. There is no attempt to approach music in a historic or thematic sequence; each programme reflects the presenter's own tastes, knowledge and experience, and over a year members hear anything from Hildegard of Bingen to Paul McCartney, Janacek to classics in jazz, and excerpts from the Great American Songbook. Most of it tends to be classical. The group meets fortnightly on Thursday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm at St Philip and St James Church, which has high quality sound and video systems and easy access.
