Murder Mystery Books 3

The group reads a different murder mystery novel each month over a cup of coffee and discusses it: whether they enjoyed it, how well it was written, whether the characters and the sense of place convinced, how the plot held up, whether the culprit was obvious too early, and whether they would read the author again. One aim is to introduce members to crime writers they may not have come across. Over time it has read crime writers from Australia, India, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and France, as well as the UK, and, purely for fun, members score each month's book out of ten with a view to naming a murder mystery of the year. It meets in a member's home in Southwick on the third Friday of the month at 2pm, from September until July.
