What you can join around Stroud · Everything local in Stroud
Meets: Monthly on Monday afternoons normally 3rd Monday from 2pm; occasional additional meetings.
Where: Member's Home, Stroud
The group meets monthly at a member's home to share information and images on mediaeval art and architecture and to encourage interactive discussion, taking in manuscripts, jewellery, symbolism and stained glass among other things. The term mediaeval is treated loosely, covering Saxon, Norman and later periods up to and including the Tudor period. Periodic outings are organised to interesting sites, many of them churches or buildings with a religious connection, with recent and planned trips to Saxon and early Norman churches near Cirencester, the archives at Gloucester Cathedral and Kilpeck. Meetings are normally on the third Monday of the month from 2pm, with occasional additional meetings. The group is full and cannot accept new members for the foreseeable future.
Part of Stroud u3a. Joining is through membership.
