Mawdesley and Neighbouring Villages u3a is an organisation in West Lancashire for people who are no longer working full time but are still active. It is based in Mawdesley, draws members from the surrounding villages and has about a thousand members. Interest groups cover a wide range, among them walking, cycling, history, woodcarving, Shakespeare, guitar, politics and current affairs, and local exploring. A social morning is held every Wednesday in the village hall.
