What you can join around Lancaster · Everything local in Lancaster
Meets: On Thursday afternoons 1:30 pm-3:30 pm 1st in month easier dances; 3rd in month slightly more demanding dances
Where: Lancaster Quaker Meeting House (QMH), Lancaster
This very friendly group dances ceilidh and traditional country dances with callers, and musicians play at the sessions, so members frequently dance to live concertinas, guitar, fiddle and drum. The first Thursday of the month is easier dancing and the third Thursday is more demanding, with slightly harder dances at a faster pace. Sessions run from 1.30pm until 3.30pm at Lancaster Quaker Meeting House.
- Newcomers No experience is necessary as full instruction is given, all the steps are called, and it doesn't matter if you haven't a partner, as we pair up for each dance with more experienced dancers supporting beginners. No one is left out.
- What to bring Suitable footwear, to reduce the risk of injury.
- Who it is for Both sessions require a reasonable level of mobility and balance, as a lot of dances have a turning move.
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 £2 per session
Part of Lancaster & Morecambe u3a. Joining is through membership.
