Filey & District u3a runs 29 groups around Filey.
Filey and District u3a covers Filey and the surrounding villages of Hunmanby, Muston, Lebberston, Gristhorpe and Cayton in North Yorkshire. It was formed in May 2011 and has around 300 members and more than 25 interest groups, covering singing, local history, crafts and table games, physical activities such as walking, golf, table tennis and water sports, and a number of social groups. A monthly meeting is held on the fourth Thursday of the month, unless otherwise announced, starting at 10.30am, when a visiting speaker talks on a subject of their choice. From April 2026 that meeting is held at Filey Methodist Church in Union Street, which opens at 10am so that members can socialise, look into new activities and sign up for a group.
- Newcomers Anyone eligible is welcome to attend one monthly meeting without obligation and to speak to any group organiser or committee member.
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 Annual subscription is £10 for 2026 to 2027, renewable on 31 March, and covers monthly meetings and membership of any group. Some groups may make a charge.

A local paper for your patch, delivered by email. Who's just started up, what's in season, when the markets are on, what's on this month, and the odd story about how a place like yours keeps its money close to home.
Good news, mostly. There's enough of the other kind about.
