Faringdon & District u3a runs 39 groups around Faringdon.
Faringdon and District u3a has been running since 2002 and has about 450 members, drawn from Faringdon and the surrounding area. It is first and foremost a social organisation, a collection of people who form groups to do things they enjoy, from pub lunches and walking in the countryside to learning a language. Members whose interests are not yet catered for are encouraged to gather others who share them and start a group. The branch also offers a monthly talk in the Faringdon Corn Exchange. It is part of the Thames Valley Network Region.
- Who it is for For people who have finished full time employment or raising a family. The branch is also keen to hear from those who would prefer evenings and weekends, so that it can build up enough interest to run activities then.
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 There is an annual membership subscription, and individual groups may have overheads of their own, such as room hire or the cost of a pub lunch, which their members cover
