Canal History and Culture

The group introduces members to the way of life the early boatmen followed and to canal culture and traditions, and most of each meeting is given to a talk on an aspect of canal life. A shorter session on the traditional roses and castles painting comes first, and members can attend either session or both. The talk is also available by video call. Canal and river walks and visits to festivals, museums and restoration projects are arranged through the summer months, the timing depending on the dates of the events. The group meets on the second Friday of the month from 2pm until 4pm in Ickenham, with the talk starting at 2.30pm.
