Meets: Monthly on Wednesday mornings 11:30 am-1:00 pm 2nd Wednesday of the month
Where: 2nd Ifield Scouts Hut, Crawley
The group shoots .177 air rifles at the 2nd Ifield Scouts Hut on the second Wednesday of the month, and takes up to 18 people. Members start shooting pre-charged rifles from a sitting position and progress according to ability to shooting standing, with the chance to shoot pre-charged air pistols and to shoot prone once comfortable with the range and the technique. Targets range from standard card ones to knock down targets. Range safety rules must be followed at all times, everyone has an introductory briefing, and a briefing runs at the start of each session, so members need to be there from the beginning. Members may be asked to help set the range up or take it down. 2025 was a busy year of shooting and monthly competitions, and the group grew from 20 members to 30, which is why it now runs as two separate sessions. Air Shooting 2 runs from 11.30am until 1pm and has a few vacancies.
