Dancing for Fun
Contrafusion holds a folk and barn dance every Tuesday afternoon in the large hall at Maidstone Baptist Church on Knightrider Street, dancing from two o'clock until half past three. The programme reaches back to seventeenth-century figures and forward to modern ceilidh, taking in square dances, American contras, contra waltzing and the polka, many of them danced to a smooth walking step. There is no need to book, bring a partner or have danced before.
