A German group for beginners, working towards being able to meet German speakers, introduce oneself, order in restaurants, buy tickets and hold simple conversations while travelling, and from there towards more grammar and culture. It works through the BBC box set Talk German Complete, so anyone joining later needs to judge whether they could catch up by reviewing the earlier chapters, and a beginner should think of it as a commitment of several years rather than a few weeks. Meetings are on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 10am until 11.30am in the Falcon Room at the Stourbridge Institute, with the entrance on Bell Street opposite the Crystal Leisure Centre, and dates may change around Christmas, Easter and the summer. The group has been running for two years.
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 Members need the course book, which costs about £20.
