British Rules Mah Jong played for fun in groups of four around card tables, with around 30 regulars each week. The game is loosely similar to rummy, played with three suits, and with picture cards replaced by winds and dragons. The group meets weekly on Thursday mornings from 10am until noon at Crookham Memorial Hall, over coffee and a biscuit.
- Newcomers Newcomers are made to feel welcome, with or without a Mah Jong set. No previous knowledge of the game is needed, full instruction is given as required, and the game is introduced gradually so newcomers can learn at their own pace.
- Who it is for Most members are not competitive and play simply for fun.
Part of Fleet and District u3a. Joining is through membership.
